BEGINNER'S FELTMAKING WORKSHOP - 7TH MAY 2022 - CANCELLED
A Beginners’ Workshop will be held on Saturday 7th May 2022
Cost is $80.00 and includes all materials.

This workshop is being run in conjunction with The Illawarra Feltmakers Inc.
During this introductory course you will learn how to lay out fleece, the felting process and how to recognise when your felt is fully felted. You will also learn how to incorporate textural materials such as fabric and threads.
All materials will be supplied as well as comprehensive notes to take home along with your finished piece.
Felt is a versatile textile and is not confined to clothing, accessories or industrial purposes. It has sculptural qualities. Together with your imagination and this introductory course, a new and exciting world awaits.
We will be following whatever Covid protocols are in place in September. Should the workshop be impacted by restrictions that make it impractical to proceed, the date will be rescheduled.

During this introductory course you will learn how to lay out fleece, the felting process and how to recognise when your felt is fully felted. You will also learn how to incorporate textural materials such as fabric and threads. We will also touch on the use of resists to create a seamless hollow to make an item such as a phone or an ipad cover.
All materials will be supplied as well as comprehensive notes to take home along with your finished pieces.
Felt is a versatile textile and is not confined to clothing, accessories or industrial purposes. It has sculptural qualities. Together with your imagination and this introductory course, a new and exciting world awaits.

This workshop is being run
in conjunction with The Illawarra Feltmakers
Saturday 3rd November 2018 (10am - 3pm)
You will learn essential skills in the ancient
craft of feltmaking. The class begins with making a small flat felt piece that
incorporates textural materials like fabric and lace.
This will be followed with learning how to use
a resist between the layers of wool in order to create a seamless hollow
vessel.
Anita will share with you how to make a
pattern for a resist. You will be amazed at the feltmaking process, and the
potential it holds for creative adventures.
