South Coast Fibre Muster July 6-7 2024

We will be at the South Coast Fibre Muster for our July meeting day. Come alone & say hello. The Berry School of Arts will be filled with Wool traders & wool lovers demonstrating how to create all things from wool.

Come along & join us at our exhibition in June. "Felt out of Colour" a tribute to our past president Marg always colourful. A beautiful display of handmade felt from wearable garments to unique useable items.You can see felting demonstrations or make your own felt. We also have Glenora Weaving & Wool with a stall so you can stock up on supplies.

2024 The year ahead

You will also learn how to incorporate textural materials such as fabric and threads. We will also touch on the use of resists to create a seamless hollow to make an item such as a bag, vessel or hat. All fleece and textiles will be supplied as well as comprehensive notes to take home along with your finished pieces. Felt is a versatile textile and is not confined to clothing, accessories or industrial purposes. It has sculptural qualities. Together with your imagination and this introductory course, a new and exciting world awaits. Should the workshop be cancelled by The Illawarra Feltmakers Inc, full refunds will be made. INTRODUCTION TO FELTMAKING

          

            Saturday 3rd November 2018   (10am - 3pm)

You will learn essential skills in the ancient craft of feltmaking. The class begins with making a small flat felt piece that incorporates textural materials like fabric and lace.

This will be followed with learning how to use a resist between the layers of wool in order to create a seamless hollow vessel.

Anita will share with you how to make a pattern for a resist. You will be amazed at the feltmaking process, and the potential it holds for creative adventures.
