Beginners’ Workshops for 2019 will be held on 4th May, 7th September and 2nd November. Cost is $80.00 and includes all materials and a felting kit to keep.

This workshop is being run in conjunction with The Illawarra Feltmakers Inc Over the course of the day you will learn how to lay out fleece, the felting process, how to calculate shrinkage rates, and most importantly how to recognise when your felt is fully felted. You will also learn how to incorporate textural materials such as fabric and threads. We will also touch on the use of resists to create a seamless hollow. All materials will be supplied and will include everything you need to start on this wonderfully creative adventure. You will also receive comprehensive notes to take home along with your finished pieces. Felt is not confined to clothing and industrial purposes; it has sculptural qualities that allow your creative potential full reign.
